After the untimely death of his father, a young boy is left alone in a haunted country estate with his recently widowed stepmother. Her stepmother, struggling to cope with the difficult task of parenthood, drifts away, leaving their fragile bond in danger of falling apart. As the tension builds, the boy begins to hear disturbing sounds echoing through the corridors and is soon haunted by a grotesque creature with an unsettlingly familiar resemblance to his dead father. As the boy’s warnings are dismissed as the imagination of a grieving child, the menacing entity tightens its grip on their crumbling lives.
